Soup with pearl barley, cucumber and meatballs

Pearl barley thickens the soup and makes it really hearty too. Its a delicious, warming soup for any time.

1Wash pearl barley and leave standing in the water best for the night. Then add pearl barley to the boiling broth and cook for 20 minutes.
3Mix the minced meat with egg, garlic paste, pinch of salt. Once is all mixed make a few small balls and keep them aside.
5Slice carrots, onions, fry them in the pan until golden and add to the broth. Cut potatoes and put into the broth.
6Put the meatballs into the broth and cook for about 15 mins.
8Finally add sliced into cubes pickled cucumbers and cook the soup for several minutes more. Add dill and sour cream to the taste.
